Aging is a continuous and inevitable process. We cannot stop the aging process, but we definitely can delay the process. Beautiful, youthful skin is a reflection of a healthy body and mind. The nutrients from the food you eat help with healthy aging inside out.

1. Stay hydrated

Your skin is the largest organ of the body. Your body is made up of cells, which is made up of water. Drinking enough water helps with better absorption, digestion, and circulation of the nutrients from the food we take.

The lack of hydration will result in slow functioning of the body. Dehydrated skin will make your skin look saggy, dull, and flaky. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water every day. Make yourself a delicious and healthy green smoothie if you are running late for work.

2. Have a healthy diet

What you eat significantly impacts the health and aging of your skin. Omega-3 fatty acids are powerful for your body and mind. Including food rich in omega-3 fatty acids are excellent ways to keep your skin supple and moisturized.

Nutrient-rich foods like avocados, walnuts, sunflower seeds are a rich source of vitamin E, vitamin C, and healthy fats.

Eating nutrient-rich foods protects the skin from the harmful effects of oxidative stress. Incorporate different pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables in your diet to increase the anti-oxidants. 3. Sun Protection

Use a moisturizer that has SPF of 25 and above. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before stepping out of your home. Reapply the sunscreen every 2-3 hours or depending on how frequently you expose yourself to the sun.

Drinking fresh lemon juice flushes out toxins from your body. Vitamin C helps lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation. You can directly apply lemon juice on skin to lighten dark spots or you can mix lemon with honey and apply on skin for youthful and supple skin.

5. Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate has anti-aging properties that retain the elasticity of the skin and prevents skin sagging.

There are so many health benefits of dark chocolate like maintains low cholesterol levels, good for blood vessels and rich in iron, zinc, magnesium, flavanols, etc.

According to studies, you must consume 70% and above dark chocolate for the most flavanols. These flavanols help in protecting against harmful UV rays. You can include dark chocolate in your diet at your lunch or dinner. You can also apply melted dark chocolate mixed with coconut oil and brown sugar as a natural exfoliator.

Wash it off with lukewarm water for supple skin. Repeat it once or twice a week.

6. Red Wine

Red wine is a well-known beverage also known for its skin benefits. It is known for its anti-aging properties.

It contains antioxidants like resveratrol, flavonoids, and tannin that help in aging better.

The polyphenols in red wine transform dull skin to beautiful glowing skin. Apply red wine on your face to fight acne prone skin. Gently massage red wine on your face for 10 minutes and wash it off.
