10 Commandments for Having Beautiful Skin

Will you like to step out and be the focus for all because of your beautiful skin? Will you love to win a lot of admiration from friends and families always praising your gorgeous, radiant skin? Then these 10 commandments to having beautiful skin are for you.

Little about your skin

The skin is made up of dead keratinous cells residing in the dermis. As you already know that the skin is made up of three parts: the epidermis (top layer), dermis (middle layer), and the subcutis (the fat layer). The dermis, being the largest part of the skin, houses the blood vessels that feed the skin with the needed nutrients. Read more about the skin structure

Now Let’s Consider the 10 Commandments for Having Beautiful Skin

Cleanse Your Face Before Calling It A Day

Before sleeping at night, make sure you get all your makeup off your face by cleansing your face with non-alcohol cleaner. If you don’t want to invest so much on a good organic face cleanser, you can get a bottle of apple cider vinegar and mix a part with a part of coconut oil (if you have dry skin) and sweet almond oil (if you break out easily). Using your cotton wool, wipe your makeup thoroughly.

If you have a moisturizer or a face cream, apply a little dab on your face, and that’s all. You can now enjoy your wonderful sleep.

Stay Hydrated

Why there is no proof that your skin gets supple when you drink a lot of water, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t adhere to your 8 cups of water a daily ritual. Water cleanses every nook and cranny of your body. It rids the body of harmful toxins that may cause your skin to look dull and unattractive.

So, if I were you, I’ll make drinking a lot of water my habit.

Skin Friendly Ingredients

Be smart with the skincare products you apply to your skin. Don’t just buy “anyhow” product only because it works for your friend. Take your time to read the ingredient list before spending your money on any skincare product. See the list of dangerous ingredients to avoid in your skin and hair care ingredients.

Diligently Follow Your Skincare Routine

Never joke with your routines. Cleanse your skin, use your skin toner, apply your moisturizer, apply your sunscreen, avoid harmful ingredients, and many more. Stick to these, and you’re good to go.

Use Antioxidant Serums

Serums work faster than moisturizers because they have a smaller molecular size which makes them to readily penetrate through the skin, going straight to the blood vessels and then to the body – all within a few minutes. When you apply antioxidant-rich serums, you prevent the chance of oxidative damage via free radicals. Hence, your skin will be radiant, and aging signs like fine lines and wrinkles will diminish.

Change Your Pillowcase Every 3 to 5 Days

Why? You’re likely to spend up to 7 hours sleeping – that’s almost 1 day in contact with your pillowcase. What you want to avoid is getting microbes into your skin. If you break out easily, the last thing you want is more breakout. And to prevent that, you have to change your pillowcase every 3 days.

Avoid Junk Food

Yes, they taste sweet. But they wreck the health…and the skin too. Do away with fries, oily food, junks, and mostly fast food. Cut down on carbs and oils and replace them with vegetables, proteins, and vitamin, minerals, omega-3, and omega-6 rich food.

Use Face Mask Once a Week

Face mask nourish your skin, makes it smooth and vibrant and supple. Check the DIY section for a good face mask you can make right in your kitchen for having beautiful skin.

Exfoliate Your Skin

Help your skin to shed the old, dull skin so that you can have the new skin come to the surface. Old skin makes you look sick and unattractive while the underlying skin makes you exude with beauty. Try using brown, white sugar, or Epsom salt mixed with honey, and olive oil to exfoliate your skin.

Workout

Walking at least for 40 minutes a day, which is almost 8000 steps, is more than sufficient to get your skin fed with the necessary nutrients. And you can swim for some minutes a day, go jogging, or yoga. The goal is to exercise regularly. Do that and watch your skin glow.

I hope you find the 10 commandments of having beautiful skin useful. Please don’t just read this, follow it and inculcate the commandments into your daily routine. I’m so sure your skin will soon be the talk of the town…trust me.
